Nyandarua County is headquartered in Ol Kalou, and comprises of the following sub-counties; Kinangop, Kipipiri, Ndaragwa, Ol Kalou, Ol Jorok. Its neighbouring counties are Laikipia, Murang'a, Nakuru, Nyeri. Nyandarua main economic activities are Potatoes, dairy, pyrethrum, horticulture, tourism.

About Nyandarua County

Nyandarua County is situated in Kenya's central highlands, bordering Nakuru, Laikipia, Nyeri, Murang'a and Kiambu counties. Ol Kalou is the county headquarters. The county lies along the Aberdare Range and is known for its cool climate, fertile volcanic soils, rivers and forests. The population is predominantly Kikuyu. Agriculture dominates the economy through potatoes, maize, wheat, peas, vegetables, dairy farming and sheep rearing. Tourism benefits from Aberdare National Park, scenic waterfalls and mountain landscapes. Nyandarua preserves rich Kikuyu cultural traditions through music, folklore and community ceremonies. Historically, the county played an important role during the Mau Mau struggle in the Aberdare forests and remains one of Kenya's leading agricultural producers.
