Kiambu County is headquartered in Kiambu, and comprises of the following sub-counties; Gatundu North, Gatundu South, Githunguri, Juja, Kabete, Kiambaa, Kiambu Town, Kikuyu, Limuru, Lari, Ruiru, Thika Town. Its neighbouring counties are Nairobi, Murang'a, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Kajiado, Machakos. Kiambu main economic activities are Manufacturing, commerce, ICT, real estate, coffee, tea, dairy, horticulture.

About Kiambu County

Kiambu County borders Nairobi, Kajiado, Nakuru, Nyandarua and Murang'a counties. Kiambu Town is the county headquarters while Thika, Ruiru, Limuru and Kikuyu are major urban centres. Fertile highlands, forests and rapidly expanding urban areas characterize the county. The population is predominantly Kikuyu but highly cosmopolitan due to urbanization. The economy is among Kenya's strongest, driven by manufacturing, commerce, real estate, technology, education and agriculture. Coffee, tea, dairy farming, horticulture and poultry remain important. Kiambu preserves Kikuyu traditions while embracing modern urban lifestyles. Historically it was a focal point of Kenya's independence struggle and remains a leading contributor to the country's industrial and economic growth.
